Claude-Alain Bugnon has been distilling absinthe in Val-de-Travers, Switzerland since 2000. Initially he produced the drink illegally but has gone on to become one of the world's finest absinthe distillers currently operating. 'Angelique', named after his daughter, is a wonderful, unusually tangy Swiss Verte with the powerful presence of anise, fennel and other herbs ensuring a rich, complex flavour that makes this a unique drink. The 'Angelique 72 Verte' and the 'Angelique Verte Suisse 68' are two other variants of this absinthe which differ mainly due to the varying combinations herbs used in the colouring phase of their production. The 'Angelique 72 Verte' uses a higher proportion of steeped wormwood which creates a slightly more bitter taste whereas the 'Angelique No.3 Appassionato' includes no wormwood in the coloration process and is therefore somewhat milder in the taste.
